Nickolai has performed internationally and maintains a prominent presence in the Pacific Northwest. His client list includes Microsoft, Amazon, The Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, Seattle Art Museum and Sculpture Park, Woodland Park Zoo, and The Seattle Mayor's Office.

Past shows have included the Queensryche Cabaret, Circus of Dreams, The Moisture Festival, and The Seattle Opera's production of La Boheme.
